GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

    Full STEAM Ahead!

    Today, we celebrated our very first 'Full STEAM Ahead' day, and what an incredible day it was!

    Children (and staff!) came dressed to impress, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths.

    The day truly highlighted the amazing learning that happens within Longford Park’s wider curriculum - from the inventive costumes to the whole day of hands-on STEAM learning, the energy and excitement around the school was really inspiring! Some comments from the children included:

    It was a really fun way for us to be creative in showing what we're been learning' Year 6

    'I loved seeing what everyone else has been learning about - the costumes were amazing!' Year 4

    'Having our science lesson dresed as Ancient Egyptians was really fun  -they wouldn't have got to have science lessons in Egypt back then so that was funny!' Year 5

    'It was so fun - I came as a Stone Age villager and soon we're going to make a Stone Age shelter!' Year 3


    A huge thank you to our staff and families for making this day happen – here’s to nurturing curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. We're already looking forward to the next one!
