GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

SEN Support

Children that are on the Special Educational Needs register for requiring additional support beyond the school's 'Universal Offer'. The purpose of the SEN register is to ensure that these pupils receive appropriate support and that their progress is monitored effectively.

EHCP

Educational Health Care Plan. A legal, personalised document that sets out the education, health and social care needs of a child / young person who needs more support in their education setting beyond the universal / targeted offer. 

EHCNA

An application for a needs assessment to ascertain whether an EHCP is required.

Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception and Nursery)

GLD

Good Level of Development. This is the measure used at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) when children finish their Reception Year. It indicates that a child has achieved the expected level in the prime areas of learning (communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development) and the specific areas of literacy and mathematics.

Expected Standard (EXP)

The appropriate standard that a pupil should be working at for that time in the year.

Greater Depth (GDS)

Pupils working beyond the expected standard for that time in the year
